Beer Spoilage Bacteria Detection Kit

A rapid, PCR based beer spoilage bacteria detection kit

CapitalBio Beer Spoilage Bacteria Detection Kit is designed to rapidly extract DNA from spoilage bacteria cells occurring during beer fermentation and to accomplish quick PCR detection. Target species includes the major possible spoilage bacteria: L. brevis, L. lindneri, L. collinoides, and other Lactobacillus bacteria such as Pediococcus damnosus. Researchers need only to add the cell suspension into the provided lysis buffer, vortex and heat up the solution to extract DNA which can be used directly for PCR amplification. The PCR reaction system includes all reagents needed except for the template.

Key Features
★ High sensitivity: target genes can be detected from a fermentation at a concentration as low as 103 CFU/ml
★ Environmentally friendly: lysozyme, lysostaphin or proteinase K are not needed, neither are phenol, chloroform nor other dangerous chemicals
★ Convenient operation: spoilage bacterial DNA can be extracted for PCR amplification directly from fermentation solutions containing high a concentration of yeast
★ Time-saving: DNA extraction from one sample takes < 15 min; Complete detection procedure takes < 3 h
★ High specificity: capable of identifying members of the beer spoilage bacterial community (able to grow in fermenting beer) from the non-spoilage Lactobacillus community

Applications

  • Microbial monitoring and quality control for the brewing industry
