DNA microarray genotyping technology has broad applications in molecular diagnostics. The most important advantages of this technique are its simultaneous analysis of multiple genetic point mutations and other polymorphisms as well as its high-throughput and accuracy. There are two different types of high-throughput detection. One simultaneously detects hundreds of thousands of polymorphism points from thousands of genes from one individual (reverse array hybridization), e.g. the Affymetrix SNP 5.0 service we provide. The other one detects several polymorphism points in one gene from thousands of individuals (forward array hybridization), e.g. the HLA (Human Leukocyte Antigen) genotyping service that we provide.
